You think you have been wronged in the course of an inspection?
You have a complaint regarding the work or the conduct of an inspector who is a member of the AIBQ?
The complaints committee will investigate the professionalism of an individual based on the code of ethics which is part of the standards of practice, in relation to the events and implications of a particular case.
Complaints must be submitted in writing on an original document signed by the person requesting the investigation.
This request must contain a description of the facts reproached against the inspector and any relevant material in support of the complaint.
Upon receipt of the complaint, an investigation is undertaken. As part of the investigation, it is customary that the complainant's statement be sent to the inspector under investigation. The records of the complainant requesting the investigation will then be required from the inspector concerned.
The AIBQ will not refund nor compensate in any way, professional fees deemed inadequate or judged incompetent. Litigations concerning inspection fees and / or damages must be submitted to the competency of the civil courts.
To be accepted, requests for investigation must include the statement signed by the complainant; e-mail submissions cannot be accepted. We recommend you visit the AIBQ website for additional information relating to the standards of the profession.
